Who are we?

Hemispheric Press is a minuscule press composed of Trevor Lohman, David Smith, and sometimes Alfredo Loreto. The idea to start a publishing company was borne out of a desire to help others recognize their dreams with writing, as well as pursue our own goals with the craft. Finding ourselves in a brilliant community of researchers and writers, we asked ourselves, why not bring these ideas out of internet chatrooms into more formal, published spaces? We are excited to feature a number of authors and artists that have become close friends, and we look forward to making new connections through this Substack.

Why Subscribe?

We are not some huge press that consumes authors’ souls for the price of pennies. We genuinely care and appreciate the authors we represent. When you read and subscribe to this Substack, you help us support those authors. We also offer ways to directly contribute to authors who keep 100 percent of their donations. Nobody who works or writes for Hemispheric Press does this as a full-time job. We are fellow grunts, grinding on the side, trying to make miracles happen, and hoping we can do good work with this company.

Mission

Our mission is to help authors find their voice and to connect them with a responsive audience, to give readers a diverse and interesting array of options for consumption, and to be on oasis of good in the storm that sometimes surrounds us.
