The Epstein Affair: Part 7

The intersection of Epstein, eugenics, and tech gets really weird.

I want to pivot into Epstein’s connections with tech. In the last installment, I asked questions about a potential breeding program being run out of Zorro Ranch. To understand how something like that is even fathomable, we have to investigate the tech icons swirling around Epstein. Like his connections to the evolutionary biologists in academia, Epstein recruited incredible influence among Silicon Valley. His tentacles reach even deeper into this community, actually. Immediately upon starting this phase of the research, shit got bizarre, quickly.

But first, we need to talk about how and why Epstein landed in New Mexico in the first place. Which means we have to talk about Robert Maxwell again, one of the craziest characters I’ve ever encountered. We’ve met him before.

Robert Maxwell is connected to New Mexico through the PROMIS scandal. He sold spyware to the United States on behalf of Mossad and CIA to siphon nuclear secrets out of Sandia and Los Alamos and into Israel. Multiple books could be dedicated to PROMIS and what spun off of this scandal, and the story is mostly told through the lens of what happened to Danny Casalaro. I don’t know everything there is to know about PROMIS and the octopus, it’s an elusive and seemingly dangerous story, but from what I have heard, it’s explosive.

What PROMIS highlights is Robert Maxwell’s influence within the global scientific community. He was able to procure a meeting with the leaders of Sandia National Laboratory, arguably the most influential nuclear research facility in the world, and sell them spyware that had been rigged with a backdoor. This doesn’t happen by accident. Obviously, there was coordination among some people at the highest levels of the United States government, but this is a ridiculously ballsy stunt by Maxwell, Mossad, and the CIA. Here is a quote, found in the above Visup article, but originally written by Gordon Thomas and Martin Dillon in The Assassination of Robert Maxwell, Israel’s Superspy:

In early February 1985, once more accompanied by an assistant and a secretary from IOD, Robert Maxwell returned to Sandia laboratories. He had come to sign the contract for Sandia to purchase the exclusive rights to the Promis software. He initialled each page of the document and signed his name with flourish on the last page. He gave as his title president and chief executive officer of Information on Demand. When it had been countersigned, he placed a copy of the contract in his briefcase. Snapping it shut, he handed the valise to the assistant, dismissing him and the secretary with the familiar wave of his hand.

Maxwell was then given a celebratory luncheon in the Sandia boardroom. Then he and his entourage drove back to the waiting private jet. As it flew out over the desert, it once more passed the township with the prophetic name of Truth and Consequences.

For unsuspecting Sandia, the truth was that Israel now had an electronic spy in the midst of, until now, the most secure of all nuclear facilities.

It was a significant triumph for the Jewish state, for its prime intelligence service, Mossad, and for Rafi Eitan. It meant Israel would be able to depend less on the United States to ensure that its nuclear arsenal out in the Negev desert would remain at the cutting edge of developments. It would ensure that Israel would also still remain the only nuclear power in the Middle East.”

This quote will mean a lot to as we transition into Epstein’s involvement with New Mexican nuclear scientists coming out of Sandia and Los Alamos

We will also remember Maxwell owned Pergamon Press, the most powerful scientific publishing house in the world. He completely revolutionized scientific publishing in the second half of the 20th century and fundamentally altered how science is funded in the West. He was working on behalf of British Intelligence when he acquired the Press, and through his immense intelligence resources, he was a household name among the scientific elite throughout the world.

I bring all of this up because it’s so important to remember the context that Epstein walks into. Robert Maxwell sold Sandia the spyware in the mid-1980s. Maxwell has also made a major part of his career controlling the flow of scientific research and funding for that research since the 1950s. He was most likely murdered while aboard his yacht, the Lady Ghislaine, in 1991. In 1993, with Wexner’s money, Epstein purchases Zorro Ranch from the King family. His reason for buying this particular property?

“In Jeffrey Epstein’s telling, he came to Santa Fe for the scientists.”

That article from the Sante Fe New Mexican explains that Epstein bought the New Mexico Ranch because although the funding for Los Alamos scientists had run out with the conclusion of the Cold War, they were still present in the state, looking for funding and projects. And from what I can tell in this incredibly enigmatic window of Epstein’s career, he went about his business cultivating scientific contacts throughout New Mexico and the West Coast.

A bit out Zorro Ranch before we move on. The estate is about 7,500 acres. Located in southern Sante Fe county, closest to Stanley, New Mexico, the King family sold the property to Epstein. Bruce King was a 3-term governor for the state of New Mexico. He was serving as the New Mexico governor when he sold the ranch to Epstein. The Kings still owned the majority of the property surrounding Zorro Ranch, making them neighbors to Epstein. Another New Mexico neighbor of Jeffrey was Tom Ford, and it appears they were friendly. Epstein’s connections into New Mexican politics and into Hollywood are interesting and should be explored further, but I just wanted to mention that because it adds some color to Epstein’s activities down in Sante Fe county.

Another interesting tidbit about the property is that the state of New Mexico appears to own a portion of it. I don’t know how New Mexico real estate works, so if I’m ignorant, someone please elucidate for me, but I question how normal it is for state governments to own land on private residences. They may have been leasing grazing lands to Zorro Ranch? I’m really not sure. This question does however intensify when on that portion of the property, there appears to be an entrance into an underground facility. If there are state-owned underground facilities underneath Zorro Ranch, I think that makes our story a lot more interesting and perhaps more sinister.

Back to Epstein’s connections to tech. Or, was it his connections to science? I’d like to make a note that will assuredly get buried here in the thousands of words I’ve written about Epstein; the science and tech communities are intertwined in the Epstein network. What I mean by that is that the scientific sphere and the tech sphere have a naturally close relationship to each other. One needs the other. Therefore, it becomes easier for everyone to know everyone. I don’t know if I’m making sense, but what appears to emerge is that Epstein and the network behind him are trying to apply technology and different sciences to pursue some sort of black science. We can think of it more like the entire STEM community, Science, Technologies, Engineering, and Mathematics or whatever that nerd acronym is.

An important connection to note is that of Epstein’s relationship with the Sante Fe Institute and Murray Gell-Mann. Epstein was very instrumental in providing funding to Gell-Mann’s work, and Jeffrey Epstein was thanked in introduction to Gell-Mann’s book, The Quark and the Jaguar. Murray Gell-Mann is a Nobel prize winning physicist, and as the title of his book implies, he is credited with discovering the atomic property known as the quark. He was born in Manhattan, and he studied at MIT. Both of these places were familiar to Epstein. The MIT connection is especially interesting, given Epstein’s funding of Joi Ito. MIT is also historically a very interesting institution to study. They received immense amounts of military funding following World War 2 to develop tech, some of it black tech, for the government. It’s doubtful that ever stopped. We will be coming back to MIT. We will be coming back to Cambridge. We will be coming back to Boston, at large. "In a deposition last year, Epstein’s convicted co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell said it was she who connected Epstein to the Santa Fe Institute and Gell-Mann in the 1990s, through her father, Robert Maxwell. (According to a 1991 Santa Fe Institute newsletter, the Maxwell Foundation donated $300,000 to endow a Robert Maxwell Professorship, which began in 1990; Krakauer said by phone he didn’t know whether it was named for Ghislaine’s father, but “presumably, yes”)."

INTERESTING, DON’T YOU THINK? The Sante Fe Institute has tried to distance themselves from Epstein, but they’ve been finding these issues uncomfortable. I think the above quote really illustrates the point I’m trying to make. Epstein set up shop in New Mexico with the help of the Robert Maxwell network that had been organized and deployed during PROMIS just a few years before Zorro Ranch is sold.

Moving along. Many famous figures of the tech movement met with Epstein at Zorro Ranch. Names include Reid Hoffman, Peter Thiel, Joi Ito, and many others. Again, with Hoffman, the fundraising for MIT comes up. It is also well known that Epstein had many contacts with Bill Gates, and he had pursued other avenues in order to gain influence within Silicon Valley. I believe we’ve mentioned the Edge Foundation before. This was the billionaires’ dinner club where leaders of tech and business would network. John Brockman started it, but Epstein funded it. Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Sergey Brin, Nathan Myhrvold, Larry Page, Eric Schmidt, Anne Wojcicki, and Elon Musk are known to have attended various Edge Foundation events. This is a whose who of the tech movement all the way from the beginning into the modern day.

There are many avenues one could pursue. But I think we should look into the Paypal mafia, since some of their names keep popping up. I specifically want to look into Thiel and Hoffman. If we are looking at any sort of possibility surrounding “black science” being done in and around the Epstein network, I would think that the military and the military industrial complex would need to be on board. And from the surface, it would seem as though we could find links between the military industrial complex and Peter Thiel. I also mentioned that Hoffman appears wrapped up with Epstein in funding MIT. If there is another academic institution that has been more in bed with the military industrial complex since 1945, I’m not sure who that could be. Next time, we’ll take a look at what the Paypal mafia is and how they get tied into Epstein’s network.
